The Southland region is a truly beautiful region set in the southern reaches of the South Island. Southland is a province that is often overshadowed by its more glamorous neighbouring regions… Fiordland & Queenstown.
Stewart Island is located at the southern edge of New Zealand, and is the country’s ultimate eco-tourism destination – and perhaps the best kept secret of the three main islands of New Zealand!
To get there it is an hour by ferry from Bluff or a 20 min flight aboard Stewart Island Flights from Invercargill – the island has recently become a national treasure with the crown imposing national park status to the island (Rakiura National Park).
